Tarrifs on LCDs

We do not offer any off the shelf intrinsicly safe LCDs. We can custom build the LCD to supply the voltage/current requirements you need, but we are not certified as intrinsicly safe.

what is the difference between LED and CCFL backlights

LED backlights, as used on Character, Segment and graphic displays, are measured in half-life. The half-life is how many hours it is on before it is half as bright or at 50 brightness. The lower the driving current of the LED backlight, the longer the half life. Halflife is not the amount of time be...

best type of segment LCD for direct sunlight

Seven segment displays can display any number and icon, but only a few letters such as A, C, E, F etc.

If you need to display all 26 letters, than go with a 14 or 16 segment LCD.

What is a LED half life

There is a big difference between LED and CCFL.

LED is DC Direct Current driven and does not generate the noise and EMI like CCFL.
Also, LED backlights have a half-life of 70K hours compared to the 3K of CCFL.

CCFL is close to impossible to locate for new product designs.
