0 to 4. Zero if it is passive and 1 to 4 if active. The more transistors, the sharper the image/contrast, but also the higher the cost.

Yes. TFTs can be active (1 to 4 transistors per pixel) or passive where the screen is refreshed. The more transistors, the higher the cost.

IPS is a TFT. It is a display where there is one or more transistors attached to each pixel. A TFT can also be passive which means there is no transistors, but the screen is refreshed.

Yes, it is possible to make a round TFT,

This would be a custom LCD and the cost is very expensive and has a high MOQ

No, LEDs are DC (Direct Current) and do not create noise that can be seen on CCFL and EL backlights that are AC driven

I think you mean what is a COB LCD?

COB stands for Chip on Board. That means there is a Printed circuit board attached.

The lowest cost method to add heat to a display is to add several resistors around the glass.
