What happens when segment too hot
What happens to a segment LCD display when it gets too hot?
Re: What happens when segment too hot
A Segment display contains a nematic fluid between two layers of ITO glass.
If the fluid gets too cold, it freezes and the display locks up. If the fluid gets to hot, there is a black spot that appears on the screen.
The black spot will go away once the display cools off. It is helpful to run air (use a fan) across the glass to keep the fluid cooler.
It is also possible to use a high temp liquid for higher operating temperatures.
