Is there such a thing as a 1:1 multiplex segment LCD?
Can a segment LCD be driven at 1:1 mux? what is the advantage?

Yes, a 1:1 multiplex is called a static display since there is on refresh or duty cycle. The segment is on 100% of the time or off 100% of the time
