Can you add any color to a monochrome LCD?
Yes, there are two methods. One is to add a multi color (RGB) backlight. The colors of the backlight can be modulated to generate any color except black.
It is possible to silk screen info in color on to the LCD glass. Silk-screening is just like painting the color over the segment.
