What happens when a LCD is below its operating temperature and I turn it on?

If this is a monochrome displays such as a character, graphic or segment. The display will not operate. You may see some of the segments on, but they are not changing. They are frozen in place. When you turn on the display and it is too cold for the fluid to move, nothing will happen.
