should I choose TFT or IPS?
What is better for a sharp looking display? IPS or TFT?

IPS is a type of TFT.
TFTS need to be refreshed. The faster/higher the refresh rate, the sharper the contrast.
Passive TFTs are refreshed sevearal times a second, where active TFTS have one TFT per pixel so that is it always refreshed. (Active)
IPS is where there are more than one TFT per pixel to offer a faster update and wider viewing angle.
