Gorilla glass is a brand name, but it is a type of chemically strengthened glass < https://scholar.google.com/scholar?q=ch ... i=scholart>. The increased hardness resist scratches, but does not make it scratch-proof. It is possible to add chemically strengthened glass on new LCD designs. On many LCD technologies such as character, segment and monochrome graphic displays, the cost to modify the glass is low. Modifying the size of TFT glass can have a higher NRE cost, but may be worth it for your project.
