If you are concerned about scratches on your TFT display, consider using a chemically strengthened glass. This does not make the glass scratch-proof, but does resists scratches. Strengthened glass adds a compression layer that absorbs the scratch. As long as the scratch is not deeper than the compression layer, the glass will not be touched and will not shatter. In other words. The strength or integrity of the glass is maintained.
