What is the difference between AMTFT and PMTFT?

AM stands for Active Matrix and PM is Passive Matrix
TFT (Thin Film Transistor) is a multi color display (64,000 up to 64,000,000 unique colors)
Active matrix has one capacitor/transistor tied to each pixel. This generates a much faster refresh rate that produced a sharper image, better video and better contrast. There is a higher cost.
Passive matrix has one capacitor/transistor tied to a row of pixels. There is a slower refresh rate depending on the duty cycle. The faster the duty cycle, the sharper the contrast
