Is a CSTN the same as a TFT?
CSTN stands for Color super-twisted nematic display.
it has been out for several years, but not as popular as TFTs and OLEDs. CSTN is a passive matrix, which means that the display is updated several times a minute. Not fast enough to provide as sharp as an image as an active matrix. CSTN/passive displays are lower cost since there are fewer transistors.
