What are the differences between a backlight and a side light?
A backlight is behind the LCD glass and behind a polarizer. It provides a more even light, but makes the LCD module thicker.
A sige lit has the LEDs parallel with the LCD fluid. On larger displays, there can be hot and cold spots.
