Which wire on a LED backlight is positive and which negative. Does it matter on a LED how they are connected?

The positive side of the LCD backlight is normally red, the other is black. LEDs are DC driven and must be wired correctly, unlike AC

How to know which wire on a LED backlight is positive and/or which is negative?
