How many controller and drivers are there on each character LCD?

A character LCD will only have one controller, but it could have several drivers depending on the number of characters. If there are several characters such as a 40x4https://focuslcds.com/product/40x4-fstn ... sw6wt55pab, then there will be several drivers. They are build into the LCD, you do not need to order them as an extra item.
